Letter from Nate Allen, President of the Kahlua Board of Directors
While we continue to wait for the architect to finish his plans so the contractors can bid the renovation costs, the site clean-up and mitigation work continues at Kahlua. In addition to the physical work being performed, repair plans are being prepared and the contractor just informed us they hope to have those plans completed and delivered to us for review by the middle of February. These plans will be used to submit to the town of Fort Myers Beach for permitting on some interior mitigation work and the shoring of the balconies.
Also, the staff and our local attorney continue to work through the SBA loan application. We are not sure how long it will take the SBA to approve our loan, but the SBA has reached out with some follow-up questions and our staff and local attorney have promptly responded to keep that process on-track.
Finally, I want to remind everyone that the Board of Directors is not entertaining requests for deed-backs at this time. Please also know that RAL does not have the authority to take your unit weeks either. If you no longer want to own your unit, you can try to sell it on your own or contact RAL to list it for sale.
We are making progress and expect the next few weeks to be very busy and exciting.
